Set in 1850, A PERILOUS JOURNEY details the lengthy voyage of 49 East Coast women who hire a ship and head to California in search of men. Ralston leads the pack as a woman in search of her no-good husband who has left her years ago. Her search takes her into all the seedy joints from Panama to Sacramento where she finally sees the bum, only to watch him get shot down in a dispute. Veteran western director Springsteen manages to bring some zing to the routine proceedings. leave a comment
