Peggy

Charles Coburn plays a widower who retires from his post as professor at Ohio State and moves with his daughters Peggy (Diana Lynn) and Susan (Barbara Lawrence) to Pasadena, California. Peggy isn't very happy about the move, however, and with good reason: she's secretly married to Buckeye football player Johnny Higgins (Rock Hudson), but can't reveal the union because her father despises the fullback. To make sure Dad stays in the dark, Peggy enters the contest to determine the Rose Queen, who, according to the rules, must be single. As you might well imagine, complications multiply.
