A romantic melodrama that raises questions on racial issues, then sweeps them under the rug. Wilde is a fair-skinned black woman who leaves her family and pretends to be white. She marries Franciscus, without revealing her secret, but soon the prssures created by the deception overwhelm
her. Wilde does a credible job with her role, but the film is dragged down by its overwrought melodramatics.
