Moguy gives this film a good sense of direction, probably because his background experience (he escaped France during the German invasion) was perfectly suited to the subject matter. Sanders is the upper-class doctor who is able to continue his practice above suspicion even though he is
a leader in the French Resistance. His nurse supports his activities, but her Nazi-brainwashed husband provides the tension.
