Morgan plays a soap manufacturer in desperate need of a vacation. He enters his company's jingle contest under an assumed name and to no one's surprise comes up the winner. He sneaks off to a mountain resort in the Alps ready for some rest and relaxation. But trouble arrives in the form of Astor who's convinced her man has run out on her. She brings a breach of promise suit against the multimillionaire and things get a mite busy for Morgan. Morgan and Astor are a funny duo with good comic chemistry. The supporting cast is equally fine with some veteran second bananas like Bing and Rumann providing laughs. Hull is particularly good in his minor role of kitchen worker. This was Astor's first film for MGM and the first for director Buzzell. His direction shows a good sense of the absurd as he gives sequences the right pacing and so keeps the film--and the laughs--moving right along. leave a comment
