Although directed by Alfred Sole, whose ALICE, SWEET, ALICE (1978) is one of the most remarkable horror films of the 1970s, this FRIDAY THE 13TH parody is shockingly bad. Striving for an AIRPLANE!-like sense of sheer goofiness, the film follows a mad killer as he haunts the campus of It Had To Be U., murdering the students in various silly ways (the "Cheerleader shish kebab" and "five-on-a-javelin" are the kind of gags operating here). Typically, the loaded-with-guest-stars cast ensures that this goes nowhere in a hurry. The only possible point of interest here is that Paul Reubens, better known as Pee Wee Herman, makes a guest appearance as the Pee Wee-like assistant of Tommy Smothers, who plays a Canadian Mountie. leave a comment
