Pan-Americana

Long plays the pretty feature writer for "Western World" magazine. She goes to South America in search of stories for the journal, as well as a long-awaited rendezvous with her fiance, Cramer, an American businessman living in Rio. Will her heart swoon for Terry, the handsome photographer who accompanies her? The plot is utter nonsense, little more than an excuse to showcase some great Latin American musical acts. The best of the lot includes flamenco dance team Rosario and Antonio. There are also some great songs, including "Ba-Ba-Lu" (Bob Russell, Marguerita Lecuna), which would later become a trademark song for Desi Arnaz. Narration is provided by Benchley who w...
