This amusing comedy introduced Ham Fisher's famed comic-strip pugilist to filmgoers. Here manager Knobby Walsh (wonderfully played by Jimmy Durante in his first big role) is center stage as he discovers Joe (Stuart Erwin) knocking around a gym and trains him for the inevitable big fight with the drunken champ (William Cagney, brother of Jimmy).
