Rich Virginians Maricle and Edwards are much too busy to take care of their daughter, played by Moffett. They hire a strict British nanny (Esmond) to watch over their girl. Esmond's stern ways upset Moffett, but soon "Miss Pruneface" takes over the house and promptly gets her little charge out of dirty jeans and into a dress and hair ribbons.
