My Pal Trigger

Roy Rogers named this as his favorite of all his films, and one can see why. It's well plotted, with lively direction and much better camera work than most of the Singing Cowboy's films. Rogers plays a horse trader planning to mate a prize mare with a stallion belonging to his pal Gabby Kendrick (Gabby Hayes). A gambler (Jack Holt) with similar plans for his own mare tries to steal the stallion, which escapes and mates with Rogers's mare. When the gambler catches up to the horse, he shoots it. Rogers is blamed, but he and his now-pregnant mare escape capture and leave town, with Roy determined to return to clear his name and unmask the real villain. This is the qui...
