Paid In Full

Scott and Lynn play a pair of sisters in this soap opera aimed at female audiences of 1949. Scott is the older and more caring of the two, while Lynn is an obnoxious and selfish brat. Though Scott loves Cummings, she realizes her sister also loves the man, and so sacrifices her own feelings. Lynn has a child that Scott accidentally kills. Later Cummings divorces Lynn and marries Scott. She, too, becomes pregnant but is warned that childbirth will kill her. Scott decides to have the baby anyway and present it to Lynn and Cummings in restitution. This is a delightfully turgid melodrama full of catty behavior from Lynn. She and Scott are fine as the sisters. Direction...
