During WW I, the zany Ritzes audition their new act for an agent. Unfortunately, their humor relies on German accents, and the boys bomb. They join the army and are sent to France to become mule skinners. Overseas they meet Withers, the American daughter of a French officer (Schildkraut).
Mishaps occur when they are mistaken for German spies by some French soldiers, but the Ritzes escape by balloon and end up in Germany. Somehow they make their way back to France, bringing with them a captured German general. This vehicle for the Ritz Brothers' talents is good fun and a lot of
