Pacific Heights

Call it "Rental Attraction" or "Fatal Tenant"; it was not for nothing that the ad campaign for this thriller featured a critical blurb comparing it to Adrian Lyne's classic of middle-class paranoia FATAL ATTRACTION. In both films, basically bland yuppie couples are driven to murderous rage by sociopathic barbarians at the gates of their castles. Both films also have a common fault: if you stop to think about them for more than a minute, their plots dissolve before your eyes.
