Nick Di Angelo (Rob Lowe) is a car parker who pays an expert computer hacker to do some finagling that will get him enrolled at Oxford. Once at the staid British institution, the brash Nick sets his sights on wooing Lady Victoria (Amanda Pays). He quickly offends nearly everyone around, except for American student Rona (Ally Sheedy), who takes a liking to the oaf. This is a sort of remake of A YANK AT OXFORD (1938) without any of that film's charm or humor. Lowe passes off arrogance as a cute personality quirk, and the whole movie plays like just another teen-oriented exploitation effort, replete with sex and booze. leave a comment
