Overland Bound

This routine western is historically notable for several reasons. The overly melodramatic plot involves a crooked railroad agent trying to get a pair of widows to sign over their ranch. Perrin is the good guy who saves the day and wins the heart of the widow's daughter. OVERLAND BOUND was the second western with sound and the first of its genre produced by an independent studio. Though the sound is poorly recorded, this was a highly successful film that paved the way for numerous other independent companies dealing in programmer westerns.
