Director Jonathan Kaplan (The Accused) graduated from exploitation films to shoot this memorably offbeat teen rebellion picture. In a Californian prefab community, bored teenagers entertain themselves with the Big Three: sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Perceptive, kinetic and entirely believable.
