Producer-writer-star Carpenter romps through post-Civil War California doing a lot of nothing. He's supposed to be working for the Army, trying to crack a case involving missing gold shipments. The James Gang is brought in for good measure, but Carpenter seems to be more concerned with firing his cap gun than acting.
