Producer-writer-star Carpenter romps through post-Civil War California doing a lot of nothing. He's supposed to be working for the Army, trying to crack a case involving missing gold shipments. The James Gang is brought in for good measure, but Carpenter seems to be more concerned with
firing his cap gun than acting. Jergens is the tough blonde who comes to Carpenter's aid when her outlaw lover goes after Carpenter's dad (also played by Carpenter!). She spends almost no time on the screen, though she gets costar billing.
