Shortly before her high school graduation 18-year-old Blyth learns that Wyatt and Cook are her adoptive parents, leaving her curious about her real mother. She begins a search which ends at the doorstep of Dvorak, who is less than thrilled to see the girl. Blyth realizes how understanding and loving her adoptive parents are and includes this revelation in her graduation-day speech. A less than average script which might have been better treated in the hands of the more masterful melodramatic director Douglas Sirk. A fine cast, including the pigtailed Natalie Wood, is wasted.
