The bumbling Courtenay visits a friend on the night the man is killed. It turns out the man was a member of a gang that smuggles state secrets, and the gang now believes Courtenay has information it is looking for. Courtenay is kidnaped, beaten up, and questioned by gang members Villiers and Schneider. Set free, he is captured by another group. He then discovers he has unknowingly been carrying a tobacco holder that contains a tape-recorded message all the spies want. Schneider is revealed as a member of a Parliament-sanctioned counterspy organization, and there are other unexpected problems involved in identifying some of the aforementioned characters. A spotty Bond-influenced spoof that showcases Courtenay and not much else. leave a comment
