British director David Rocksavage makes an awful mess of an American classic with this muddle-headed adaptation of Truman Capote's novel. Shortly after his mother's death, 13-year-old Joel Sansom (David Speck) is summoned to the Southern mansion of his estranged father, whom Joel hasn't heard from in more than nine years.
