Lane was the third actor to play the hero in the "Red Ryder" series, replacing "Wild Bill" Elliott, who took over for Don "Red" Barry. This installment tells how Lane got his sidekick, Blake. Lane sets up a treaty with the Indians so that he can trap fur on their land. Bad guy Barcroft
kidnaps the Indian chief's grandson, Blake, so that he can secure the fur trapping rights for himself. Lane saves the day with fists and guns blazing, and the young Blake joins up with the hero.
