Perschy is one of many women ordered to participate in a Nazi program to breed the master race during WW II. The men are chosen from soldiers and the SS. The head of the camp, Meyen, falls in love with Perschy. She falls in love with Hansen, who has taken the identity of a dead SS man to
avoid his own execution. The two attempt to escape to Switzerland, but Hansen is killed and Perschy is spared only because she is pregnant. The baby is killed after it is born, and Perschy escapes the camp during a bombing raid.
