Operation Daybreak

An attempt to recreate the assassination of the brutal Nazi Reinhard Heydrich by the Czech underground during WW II. Heydrich was the leader of the Nazi occupation forces in Czechoslavakia, and his callous treatment of the Czechs earned him the nickname of "the Hangman." Bottoms, Shaw, and Ackland play British-trained Czechs who leave their London base and parachute into their homeland to kill Heydrich. They miss their first opportunity but are successful the second time around when they toss a grenade into his car.
