Operation Amsterdam

Set in 1940, OPERATION AMSTERDAM tells the true story of the removal of $10 million worth of industrial diamonds from the title city just before the Nazi occupation. Jan Smit (Peter Finch), diamond expert Walter Keyser (Alexander Knox), British officer Maj. Dillon (Tony Britton), and Dutch contact Anna (Eva Bartok) are the foursome who must get the diamonds out, having just 14 hours to catch a boat to England while avoiding local fifth columnists and outwitting the Germans. Although the film does contain a few exciting action sequences, the rest of OPERATION AMSTERDAM is fairly tedious and padded with far too much travelog footage of picturesque European locations....
