Once Is Not Enough

Dull adaptation of Susann's soaper focusing on a group of jetsetters. Douglas plays a has-been movie producer, whose only remaining desire is to please his daughter Raffin. This leads him to a marriage with the wealthy Smith, who has been involved in a lesbian love affair with Mercouri for several years. The marriage allows Raffin to live the expensive lifestyle she is used to, while being romanced by playboy Hamilton and down-and-out author Janssen. Characters are little more than stereotypes, with the film failing to give needed depth to some intense relationships. Vaccaro was Oscar-nominated for her supporting performance.
