Ironworker McLaglen, who only smokes when he has a red-hot rivet with which to light his cigarette, leaves New Orleans with fellow he-man Harrigan to pursue a beam-walking job on a New York City skyscraper. Cajun queen D'Orsay, resentful at his departure, expresses her ire with a pistol, placing some bullets in the vicinity of his retreating figure. She then trails after him to the big city where she finds work as an entertainer in a nightclub. Her missing macho man becomes the head of the ironworker's union and the target of some slick crooks who want to divert the union's treasury into their own pockets. The chief negotiator for the crooks is the tantalizing Tashman, who bats her eyelashes at the big boob. In the nick of time, D'Orsay pulls her pistol on the mob, and McLaglen retakes the treasury money. The prune-faced proletarian then promises to be true. leave a comment
