Second outing for Newill (the first was ON THE GREAT WHITE TRAIL) which sees Fraser as a frustrated fur trader who gets so fed up with his trading posts' being robbed that he sets out to the North country in pursuit of the thieves. Luckily for him, his loyal-but-concerned daughter Walker
follows with Mountie Newill in tow. Based on a popular radio program of the 1930s, the RENFREW series with Newill comprised eight films, shifting studios in mid-series from Grand National to Monogram. Songs crooned by tuneful Mountie Newill include "Je t'Aime," "Beautiful," and "Mounted Men,"
which has nothing to do with taxidermy.
