Walls is a tyrannical shipping magnate who cuts off his daughter without a farthing because he disapproves of her marriage. Then son Ainley marries Rose, and Walls throws her father off his board of directors. In a rage Ainley tears off in his car, accidentally killing a man. After his son
is charged with manslaughter, Walls realizes that something must change and the family is reconciled. Though the drama has some moments of interest, the piece as a whole doesn't quite work.
