Lonnie Sloan (Sarah Boyd) is a 12-year-old rich kid living in New York City. She meets Karen Bruckner (Rainbow Harvest), a slightly older girl from a less affluent nearby neighborhood, and a charming friendship blossoms. Together the girls face the heartbreaks and joys of early adolescence
and learn about the class divisions that separate them. The plot is just a series of vignettes involving the two girls, but this is a sensitive film offering an honest portrayal of deep friendship.
