Oklahoma Annie

Judy Canova, in the sort of role for which she is best remembered, stars as a country-girl shopkeeper who is in love with the town's new sheriff, Dan Fraser (John Russell). Although Dan has been given the job because his predecessor wasn't on the up-and-up, not much that goes on in local government is; in fact, Bull McCready (Grant Withers) operates an illegal gambling house with the covert approval of county supervisor Eldridge Haskell (Frank Ferguson). Canova feels plenty qualified to be a law officer herself, and when she brings in a bank robber, Dan deputizes her.
