A typical British farce with wacky developments and uproarious slapstick comedy. Melvyn is a bookmaker whose wife has walked out on him. He meets a new woman (Cannon) and decides to remarry. But complications arise when Rhodes, one of the meanest mothers-in-law in cinema, descends to cause
problems for her ex-son-in-law. The editing is inconsistent, but otherwise the film is an effective comedy. The actors overplay without shame, clearly enjoying themselves.
