Even the war action cannot save this film. Set during the Korean War, Webber is the tough GI given an important assignment that might cost him his life. Instead of wasting top soldiers, he recruits the worst of the lot (aka DIRTY DOZEN) and tries to get the losers into some semblance of a group. They hate his guts and plan to kill him and take off at the first chance. Once behind enemy lines, they encounter American nun Sten, who has an injured leg, and a group of schoolgirls left at the scene they are supposed to blow up. Webber takes the group along and slowly wins the respect of his men and, of course, the girls. All the men decide to stick with Webber, with the exception of Gordon who tries to rape one of the girls. As Sten's injury worsens, it becomes apparent she will die if she receives no treatment. He lets the girls take her to a village, then goes on to lead his men on their mission and to glory. leave a comment
