Solid story line and fine British cast make this crime story passable. Nader, in his first role outside Hollywood, is a crook on the run. He has broken out of prison, to which he was sentenced for cheating a wealthy widow out of $154,000. After showing how he swindled the woman, the film returns to the present, where Nader is scheming to get back the money. However, since there is no honor among thieves, his friend, Lee, double-crosses him, his other sleazy buddies give him away, and the safety box key where he has the money stashed is stolen from him. To top it off, he gets back at Lee by beating him up, and Lee dies. With a murder charge hanging over him, he is aided by Smith. But his paranoia gets to him and he thinks she will hand him over to the cops, so he takes off once again. He is finally gunned down by a Welsh farmer and killed. leave a comment
