A sappy, derivative girls' coming-of-age tale set in the groovy '70s. Four childhood friends meet as adults to celebrate the imminent arrival of one woman's child; inevitably, they reminisce about their lost girlhood. The grown-ups are played by one minor star (Rita Wilson) and three of our most important screen actresses (Demi Moore, Rosie O'Donnell and Melanie Griffith: Have we really sunk so low?). Wisely, the film leaves most of the action to the younger cast members (notably the talented Christina Ricci), who play 12-year-old versions of the adult stars in an extended flashback to the summer of 1970.
