Based on the Broadway play, "Dulcy," NOT SO DUMB borders on farce. Davies, in her third film for Vidor, is driving everyone crazy with her penchant for saying or doing the wrong thing all the time. She is trying to carry off a party for her fiance, who wants to impress some important people willing to invest in his company. Davies' antics are routine, causing havoc all the way through to the end when everything turns out fine. An early film for Stewart, a noted humorist and novelist who had turned to acting only two years before. leave a comment
