When Morgan comes into a good deal of money, he takes his pop, Stone, out of the veterans' home and into his own household. Naturally, havoc ensues in this film adaptation of a minor play by the great writers Kaufman and Ferber. Stone is marvelously funny, with good support from Morgan and from Dickson as Morgan's social-climbing wife. Bupp is an absolute delight as the young bootblack befriended by the old soldier. The play had previously been filmed as THE EXPERT in 1932. leave a comment
