This is a strange underground film out of New York that has some fine surreal moments. Unfortunately, it gets too carried away with itself to work and ends up being a confusing mess. Writer-director Downey plays a Civil War soldier who gets shot in the behind. He heads from the battlefield to modern-day New York and runs into a variety of situations and characters: President Garfield and his assassin; SINA, or the Society for Indecency to Naked Animals, an organization dedicated to clothing the beasts of the world; some actual cinema verite footage of singles bars; and a newsman who turns into a chimpanzee.
