No Leave, No Love

Van Johnson is due to receive the Medal of Honor for his efforts during WW II. He and his buddy Wynn decide to live it up in London before heading home. He can't wait to reunite with his fiancee, but, unbeknownst to Johnson, his intended had taken up with another while he was off fighting. Kirkwood is the radio singer who somehow manages to soothe Johnson's slightly ruffled feathers. The plot is standard programmer stuff and so poorly handled that it's an embarrassment. Kirkwood was brought to the U.S. for this film and was given the star treatment upon arrival. As it turned, out this was her first and last Hollywood film.
