Lane is a henpecked husband who goes for a holiday at a seaside resort. There he gets involved with a glider competition and some Ruritarian spies out to destroy the British entry via radio control. This plays like an overlong Mack Sennett comedy. The gags are fast and furious. Unfortunately, the 70-minute running time is far too long for nonstop slapstick and the comedy soon grows wearisome. Lane, who also directed and cowrote the film, overplays his role. His behind-the-camera abilities also leave much to be desired. There's no sense of comic timing and the recording is awful considering the technology available by 1931. leave a comment
