Frantically busy, largely laugh-free domestic comedy with Sunset Boulevard flesh-troller Hugh Grant as a reluctant yuppie father-to-be; as his wife, Julianne Moore (SAFE, VANYA ON 42ND STREET) lends a modicum of maturity and class to the infantile proceedings. We're no great fans of
Robin Williams, but there seems to be a consensus that his appearance, as a wacky OB/GYN, is the sole bright spot in a pretty dismal film. Directed with a characteristic lack of subtlety by Chris Columbus (MRS. DOUBTFIRE, HOME ALONE).
