Nikki, Wild Dog Of The North

Andre Dupas (Jean Coutu) is a trapper in the Canadian wilderness whose dog Nikki runs off and returns with a new friend, Neewa, a bear cub. Andre ties the two animals together, loads them into his canoe, and heads downstream; however, they are separated from him when the canoe overturns in the rapids. The animals, still leashed together, have to learn to fend for themselves under their unusual constraint. The rope finally breaks, but Nikki and Neewa stick together for further adventures.
