1978, Movie, R, 90 mins

A delight for the horror fan who goes to movie conventions, this film was cowritten and directed by John Stanley, who hosted the popular "Creature Feature" television show in San Francisco for six years and knows of what he speaks. The action takes place during a movie memorabilia convention in San Francisco. The guest of honor at the event is Malakai (Jerry Walter), a popular horror movie actor best known for his vampire roles. As it turns out, Malakai really is a vampire, and his adoring fans are forced to play amateur Van Helsings to rid the convention of the bloodsucker. Not particularly well done, this low-budget affair is nonetheless loaded with effective inside jokes and was made with a fondness for horror fans that is difficult to find in the genre. leave a comment
