A bit reminiscent of SORRY, WRONG NUMBER (also written by Lucille Fletcher) and GASLIGHT, this murder mystery features Elizabeth Taylor as Ellen Wheeler, a recently remarried woman who sees, or thinks she sees, a murder committed in the deserted house across the courtyard. Her husband John
(Harvey) tells her she has imagined it, her girl friend humors her, and soon Ellen thinks she is going mad. Filled with red herrings and featuring a bloody "twist" ending, NIGHT WATCH fails to create much of an atmosphere. Laurence Harvey, who shows his fine talents here, died shortly after this
film's release.
