Uneasy mixture of comedy and crime as lead buffoon Parkyakarkus (who had gained a considerable amount of popularity from regular appearances on Eddie Cantor's radio show) tries to drum up some laughs, while undercover cop Lane gathers evidence from the orchestra pit (he poses as a trumpet player) to prove that gangster club-owner Page is in fact running a gem-smuggling operation.
