For mavens of the truly silly horror film genre comes this enjoyable item. Josh (Wings Hauser) and Mike (Lee Montgomery) are two brothers from the North who find themselves up to their armpits in zombies and rednecks (and sometimes a combination of the two) when they take a trip to rural Georgia. When Mike disappears under weird circumstances, Josh enlists the help of local lawman Will Stewart (Bo Hopkins) and schoolteacher Holly (Jody Medford) to find his brother. The trail leads them to a group of monsters in bad makeup, walking with the classic movie zombie gait as they terrorize the populace. It's great trashy fun with the cast taking it all quite seriously, which of course only adds to the film's unintentional humor. Not much overall, the picture is enjoyable on its own campy level. Uncredited director Mark Rosman was replaced by veteran actor/exploitation filmmaker John "Bud" Cardos after shooting had started. leave a comment
