Inane "Old Dark House"-type murder mystery featuring the usual cast of suspects being bumped off by an unknown killer. This one has a reporter, a homicidal maniac (not the killer--too obvious), a couple of mysterious Hindu servants, a swami played by Lugosi (who was appearing in THE DEVIL'S IN LOVE during the day and this one at night), and a pretty heroine. The story involves a formula that can put people in suspended animation, and the killer rises from the grave at the end and warns the audience not to reveal his identity. Probably the only time a character on screen actively threatened the viewer. leave a comment
