Fair backstage drama starring O'Brien as a playwright-actor-producer who abandoned a brilliant career and went into seclusion after his wife left him. Years later, his daughter, Bradna, finds him and encourages him to revive his talents. Aided by his close friends Young and Gardiner, O'Brien slowly and carefully sets about bringing one of his old hit plays back to the boards.
