Moore is a struggling opera singer who goes to Europe after losing a radio talent contest. Singing teacher Carminati is impressed after hearing her sing in a cafe. He takes her on as a student and develops her voice, while she falls in love with him. She becomes jealous when he takes on
another female singer as a pupil, which almost ruins her opening night. She is triumphant, however, proving her star talent at the New York Metropolitan Opera House. It's all rather cliche-ridden, but the film was a box office hit and began a brief period of Hollywood stardom for operatic diva
Moore, who is in good voice here.
