This Japanese melodrama stars Kayama as a young doctor. His foster sister, Hoshi, has loved him for years, but his romance with Yao, the daughter of a Chinese trader, causes her to lose interest in him. When Kayama attains a post in a major Bangkok hospital, things look promising for him
and Hoshi, but the couple soon learn that her father has sold her to a Thai prince. The couple must part, but they declare their undying love for each other.
