Walker plays a retired lawman who travels to Hope, Wyoming, in 1880 with his wife and family to begin a new life in the wilderness at the ranch he inherited from his grandfather. Trouble pops up in the form of a marauding grizzly bear that invades the ranch and terrorizes the family, killing Walker's prize bull and several of local citizen Wynn's sheep.
